(More customer reviews)When I bought this case I assumed my entire lantern would fit inside, fuel canister and all, but the case only holds half a lantern -- the globe, the plastic base and the nozzle. There's no room in the case for the fuel canister, which leaves me with two pieces of camping luggage to keep track of, not one.

I had a problem positioning the lantern properly inside the case. No matter how I turned the lantern the case wouldn't close without forcing it shut, leaving the seams slightly bulging.

There were no instructions, but we're not taking rocket science here. It's a plastic case. I should have been able to open it, drop my lantern inside and be on my way.

I finally found an almost invisible embossed illustration molded on the inside of the case. Anyone with bad vision will never find that black-on-black instructional note. It showed a lantern properly installed. The handle is supposed to press against the inside of the case, as that is what stabilizes the lantern and prevents it from bouncing around.

In other words, force is needed to close the case.

Once the lantern was in place I had to put some serious pressure on the case to close it. The plastic latch on top holds the case closed, but it is straining to do so. There's a gap in the seams. The latch is flimsy and poorly designed. It only takes a minute amount of pressure to open it. If it is nudged by other camping gear shifting around in my car, the latch will pop open and spill my lantern all over the back seat.

The good news is that it looks like it will protect my lantern from breakage so long as the latch doesn't pop open in transit. The entire case is very thick. The carrying handle feels hearty and tough.

I should have cut a handle into a cardboard box, added some stuffing and used that as a carrying case. I could have kept my lantern and fuel in the same space without worrying about it opening without my knowledge. I also would have saved almost $20 and spared myself some frustration.
