Most everyone remembers a camping experience that included a Coleman Lantern. For years I have had one in my basement that was missing the mantles. After the last power failure I was determined to get mine working, all I needed to do was replace mantles.
I had never replaced a mantle, so when mine arrived I looked in horror, they were huge and didn't much look like I remembered.I checked to make sure that I'd ordered the correct size. The replacements are simple to attach.I took my lamp outside to light it and whoosh the mantles went up in flame.Scared the heck out of me until I realized that once they had flamed up what remained was the smaller almost gossamer mantles that I remembered.
I now have the perfect lantern for those occasional power outages.Who knows maybe I'll take my lantern camping.
